"Glowing"

This past weekend, Tobe and I were able to spend some time with our families in the sunshine of St. George. (HEAVEN). We mountain biked, we swam, we ate fresh guacamole, and started to work on our oh-so-coveted tans. What a glorious GLORIOUS weekend.

While we were visiting with Tobe's mom one morning, we started to talk about my sister and my sister-in-law who are both pregnant. Talking about them made me wonder, "I wonder what I will look like as a jubilant pregnant woman?" (depending on how sick I am, jubilant may be too strong of a word).
When I voiced my self-absorbed question outloud, my wonderful mother-in-law responded,
"I'm sure you will be just glowing with health."

"Well for heaven sakes," I thought to myself, "rosy cheeks, bright eyes, big smile, baby bump, instant weight loss after Tobe and my beloved baby is born -- that would be totally rad."
Pssh, I totally want to be glowing with health. But, who doesn't want to be "glowing," I mean really.

Little does my mother-in-law know that her comment started a new goal --

I want to "glow" with health.

Although Tobe and I are yet to bring a new little Tobler into the world, I have taken on a new charge to take better care of myself. With inspiration from my beautiful, "glowing," wonderful sister, Camie, I have eliminated sugars from my diet. I first started by getting rid of all items containing high fructose corn syrup -- and let me tell you, that cuts out a significant part of my regular foods, i.e. tootsie rolls/hot tamales. (Kuhni girls are known to eat these two items for lunch, seriously). I then took out normal white and brown sugars. This kind of scared Toby who thought this may effect my bake-aholic tendency to shower Toby with all sorts of sweet goodness. (Don't worry, Tobe, cookies will still be baked just for you). What I am left with is all of the wonderful whole fruits, vegetables, breads, and proteins of the earth -- foods which have made my body feel so, so good.

Since I have implemented this plan, I often off-handedly asked Toby,
"So, um, Toby, am I like... glowing?"
His ever constant response, "Totally."

That's what I thought. :)

Guys, it was a great weekend. To illustrate; 2 ringers, one leaner, one counter, all for a total of nine (9) points! Unbelievable, Unprecedented, and clearly the standing record!

By the way Annie, you have never had any problem "glowing."

I own a reproduction of that Ansel Adams Grand Canyon shot. You can have it if you desire because I haven't used it--I chose to frame another one of his photos instead to lean on my mantle (silhouhette of a tree--can't recall title). Cost me $40 to frame, and I love, love.
