Happy Hour and Fisherman's Wharf

Day 8

Today was an extremely productive day for the Tobler family in the City. After dropping off Toby at work, I decided I needed to root out the best local grocery store -- thus far in our stay I had only been to Costco.

I got home and wrote down the addresses to several different stores in the area and narrowed down my list to the top two options: 1) Cal Mart, 2) Trader Joes.

Having the needed addresses in hand, I hopped in the Camry, entered address #1 into my beloved GPS and I was on my way. Here is what I discovered.

Trader Joes - Top notch - the total heaven of any person who values good organic/sugar free/all natural food (i.e. Camie -- sorry we don't have one in Utah, Cam). I immediately wanted to buy everything in sight. Somehow I was able to control myself.

Cal Mart - Wa-OH! New fave. It is family owned grocery store with BEAUTIFUL produce, bouquets of fresh flowers busting out all over the place, and a rockin' bakery.

I was extremely impressed with both locations.

Below are items purchased at the Cal Mart Bakery....

The pictures below include some flower arrangements I bought at Trader Joes....

And here is the rest of the apartment:

After my morning on the town, I busted out a couple of P90X workouts (I'm in Lake Powell training!) and got cleaned up.

After work, Toby went with his co-workers to a local restaurant for ehm, ehm "Happy Hour." I know, I know, initially I was concerned. However, Toby assured me Happy Hour is when the people from the office get together and eat some snacks and get a drink together (Toby's only option was "Diet Cola").

When Toby got home we put on our walking shoes and headed for Fisherman's Wharf (only about a mile away).

Here is a photo summary of the evening.....

We found tootsie rolls!!!
..... So we loaded up on a few for road trip treats (the next day we went to Pebble Beach!)....
After hitting the hot spots, we ended up at Ghiradelli Square....
....We are planning to go back later in the summer to get a sundae!!

We then walked back up Van Ness St., down Broadway, and made it home in time for bed.

San Francisco is starting to grow on us.
